Dear Mr.Ball:
I know that you have a soft spot in your heart for Bill & Sookie,
but I'm sorry they're not soulmates.
Bill Compton has lied too many times to her.
He has to come totally clean with her about who sent him and who collected that
dossier on her family~It wasn't Queen Sophie Anne.
The Dossier was given to him by the Council.
Bill Compton is going to lose Sookie Stackhouse~he lost her in Season 1.
He knows it.
Yes,keeping LaFayette was the best thing you did! He's a totally new character.
Love Jessica~just keep her away from Tommy PLEASE???
Let Eric get amenesia and we NEED THE SHOWER SCENE AS WRITTEN IN BOOK 4 BETWEEN HIM
AND SOOKIE~NO DELEATIONS,FILMED AS IS IN THE BOOK!!!!
I love the show have been watching it since Season 1,have read the book 7 times,
and I keep reading them when each season ends.
Can't wait till next year!!! Do us proud.
Oh, I forgort wonderful Death for Lorena! I loved all of the scenes where Bill hurt
her, like him punching her in the face!!!!
Love how you're building up the tension between Eric & Sookie.
He knows he loves her~and she know she really loves him.
But they can't figure out why??? They have a deep seated connection~one that goes deeper than Bill and Sookie~their connection goes back to before they were born.
Their connection was decided by the Fae.It was fortold by a Fae high preistess.

@Michelle: Eric will get "abnesia"? I don't even know what that is!

Anyway, I think Charlaine doesn't have a problem with the direction the show is taking, she KNOWS that Alan Ball has the rights to the books and he can do whatever he wants with the show (I'm not saying he will, though).
Here are some quotes from Charlaine herself if you don't believe me:

Kind of a roundup answer, here: At risk of repeating myself, I enjoy the series a lot, simply because it is IS different from the books. A copy of the books wouldn't be nearly as interesting. I think Alan is doing a great job of illustrating things about the secondary characters. Selling out? Ha.I put my beloved books into the hands of a wonderfully talented man who has a great track record, and I'm really entertained by what he's done with the material. Thanks to the relationship between Alan Ball and me, people are watching the show that would never have watched it and people are reading the books who would never have read them. It's a win/win situation.
I had several other offers on the books that wouldn't have resulted in this exciting and vivid world Alan has created.
I don't mind if people don't like the show and instead want to stick with the books. I don't mind if people love the show and find the books boring (well, I don't mind a LOT). They're separate creations.

Hello Charlaine and congratulations on "True Blood"!
After reading the "Sookie Stackhouse" series, I was thrilled to hear that HBO took the ball and ran with it for a series. I have enjoyed the last three episodes and look forward to more. I do have 2 questions however..., According to your books, some of the characters are appearing early and out of place. Are you happy with the changes/liberties HBO is making? And Were you made aware of the changes in order to approve them prior to filming?
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
Much happiness to you always!
Nanci

(Edited for relevancy)
I am happy with the changes, because the show is inevitably going to be different, Nanci. Alan Ball did not have to ask my approval, since he has optioned the rights to the book.

You all can email HBO with your suggestions. I have no influence over the direction of the show. That works out okay, since Alan doesn't tell me how to write the books.

Ms. Harris: Please tell me that you will not let True Blood change your way of writing the series. I am so brokenhearted with the way True Blood was done. I feel that the sex has overtaken the story lines. The books are absolutely excellent. I love the characters and story lines. PLEASE, PLEASE don't change the books in some misguided idea that your fans want what the sick, perverted Hollywood writers have done to your story and characters. Because I love the books so much I tried - really tried to watch True Blood but just gave up last nite. I am sorry to say this and realize you probably can't agree even if you want to but... True Blood is just plain porn. I would really appreciate a reply affirming that you will continue to write the series true to form. redmarq@cox.net

Redmarq, I don't think I'll change the way I write the stories at all. Alan does his thing, I do mine. I'm sorry you're so upset; don't worry about it! If it bothers you, give it up.

I don't get to approve or disapprove. Alan does his interpretation. Do I like seeing it? Not always. Do I think it's a valid version of the characters and their lives? Yes, I do.

Hi Mrs. Harris...
I like the way Alan Ball adapted Dead Until Dark. My only doubt is: will he make the adaptation for the rest of the Sookie Series or he only knows the first book?
Happy New Year!!!!

Ima.hale, Alan has rights to the whole series. We'll have to wait and see what he does, whether he follows my storyline or not.
